Ticket in the pocket

Time is flying these days. The semester is almost ended, one more week of presentations, classes and papers. It means also one more week of stress and hard work. Besides all this I have finally booked a ticket to Istanbul! Yeah! I'll be departing on the 28th of January...47 days from now.

Correction...Acceptance at Bilgi

Okay, so the first little drama had already occurred. A couple of weeks ago the news was spread nobody could go to Bogazici. !WHAT! Stress! Unfortunately it wasn't just a rumor; Bogazici refused all the applications from the Leiden University. Even though there is an Erasmus agreement. Anyway, after some time it became clear there was a misunderstanding and that our students were accepted, but because of a calculation error there was no place left for me. My second choice was Bilgi so I was assigned to this university. Actually I am pretty happy with this as it turns out. It means I only have to take 1 course in order to get all the ects points I need to finish my Masters. Which would not be possible at Bogazici. This leaves me much more time to explore Istanbul and work on my Turkish....(and do research for my thesis).
Now me and Zeynep are trying to find ourselves a cheap furnished 2-bedroom apartment with internet in the heart of Istanbul. Big wishlist?? Nahh, we will find something ;) But if you have any suggestions...please let me know.

Acceptance at Bogaziçi

Today I finally got accepted at the Bogazici University in Istanbul! I am really excited. The paperwork will start and hoping it will all go smoothly and fast. At least my scholarship is already granted, so now it's only the visa which I'm sure will take the most time and effort. We shall see...
