Cold, Introduction and Party Peeps

The introduction day at Bilgi is tomorrow and I’m really curious about all the other Erasmus Students. I think it will be a very nice day…and evening. Just received a mail from the Erasmus Student Group with all the plans for the evening. To have an idea: “Right after that, we arranged a club full of joy and nice music for party people! =) You can join the crew after 23:00 for heading to one of the most known clubs in Taksim: Joker” The only thing is that I have a very annoying cold. I think I wasn’t really allowed to enjoy the nice weather on Saturday so now I’m punished with this nasty cold and headache. Well I’ve brought aspirins and tissues with me, let’s see how far it gets me tomorrow.

At least I’m very happy with all the movies I’ve brought with me. Today…they've been excellent company in my warm cozy room. If I don’t make it to the Joker party I will still enjoy myself ;)

At Last

Yes! I'm in Istanbul! How hard it was to say goodbye to my family and friends, I'm happy that I'm here now. It's strange because I was so busy with preparing to leave I actually had no plans at all for my first days. Luckily I have found the best flatmate in Istanbul who helped me get through the first day. Because...I don't know if you've followed the weather reports; Istanbul was first covered in wet snow and is now thoroughly washed down by pouring rain that goes on the whole day.
But first let me tell you about my arrival. No, first let me proudly tell you that I managed to bring all my winter ánd summer clothes with me in 1...I repeat...1 bag. An enormously big bag of course...but exactly the allowed 30 kg. So when I was picked up by my new flatmate, Polina, we could easily get all my stuff to the apartment. The apartment, which is in Sisli, is very nice. Polina and her friends gave me a very warm welcome-dinner and we've spent a very nice first evening together.
The next day, today, Polina showed me around the mahalle and helped me obtaining my taxmunber. It was a fun and tiring day but I can say that I already feel a bit at home in Istanbul. Now I just need to keep in mind not to try to open the neighbors' apartment's door (they all look the same) and I'm sure I'll survive here.
