Spring at Boğazıcı

Last week on Friday we went to the Boğazıcı University to celebrate Nowruz, the Persian New Year. Sabrina had seen posters all around the campus saying that, that day the 5th of March, there would be a big celebration. It was supposed to involve fire and halay dancing! Of course I was curious about this. When we finally arrived at the campus (it’s quite a journey from Taksim to Bebek during rush hour) it’s was awfully quiet. At first we thought we might be too early but after asking around it was pretty clear there was no celebration at all. When we took a closer look at the posters we saw that on most of them it was initially written 15, but somebody erased the 1! Maybe some kind of joke?? Anyway it wasn’t that bad because being at the campus is really nice and walking around in Bebek is not a punishment either. There are lots of beautiful shops (my favorite Yargıcı too), cute café’s, luxurious apartments and even more luxurious yachts.
